Title Analyst - Global Reporting (Techno- functional)
Description of the role: To support the Global reporting team in reengineering the existing processes and reports through use of wide variety of tools & application & removal of non value added steps in the reporting function. To interact with technology groups, internal & external, to create ideas for process enhancements & improvements & come up with better ways of delivering finance reports. To create automated report production environments using MS office applications, primarily Access & Excel, with VB macros. Would be responsible for executing various project deliverables within this framework & change management program.
Responsibilities
· Working with large data sets of data and creating a methodology that allows the reporting team to perform faster & efficient reports
· Collaborate with the technical groups to implement ideas & finds out new methods of enhancing the process.
· Evaluate current processes & come up with automation framework in an organized manner.
·Keep a track of all the activities & assign priorities with providing status updates to the leadership at desired intervals.
· Perform User Acceptance Testing for any system changes that impact financial reporting tools & processes
Skills
· Strong preference to Oracle financial system experience
· Knowledge of business intelligence tools like COGNOS; Oracle discoverer; Business objects or Financial Statement Generators (FSGs)
· Basic knowledge of relational database design, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, data analysis and data warehousing would be an added advantage.
· Strong hands-on skills in MS Office technologies is a must (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; MS Access) with exposure to leverage VB macros.
· Willingness to quickly learn & grasp industry-wide as well as home grown applications
· Flexible hours (would be required to work in shifts)
· Strong team player (knowledge sharing, documenting practices, providing feedback)
· Good communications skills (excellent English skills: written communication, grasp of grammar and comfortable on phone and in all verbal communication)
· Good problem solving skills (ability to extract, summarize & synthesize facts and develop the best possible solution)
· Exposure to multi-national client community
· Self-motivated, high-integrity, resourceful & Enthusiastic to work in a hands-on informal team environment
Education/Background
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or technology with an exposure to working in quality improvement roles would be preferred.
· 1 to 3 years of experience in finance environment is desired.
Experience - 1-3yrs of experience preferably in VB & relational Databases. Exposure to business reporting software like Hyperion, Business objects, Cognos, OBIEE is a plus. Should be conversant with designed macros across platforms & databases.
