GRT_Senior Analyst_Chennai

Classification of Role - GRT
Position: Senior Analyst
Direct Reports: None                    
Reports To: Team Leader / other Immediate Leadership
Core Responsibilities

  •  Develop data & analyses to answer ad hoc financial questions posed by Firm or cell leaders (e.g., revenues and expenses over time , client activity , personnel levels and trends , variance analyses, etc.)
  •  Create reports, templates and tools to help Firm or cell leaders meet their own reporting needs (e.g., professionally formatted “self-service” reports that managers can run on their own)
  •  Generate and distribute standard management reports
  •  Become a subject matter functional expert with the structures and sources of available data in multiple Oracle data warehouse and financial applications.
  •  Become a subject matter expert with variety of financial reporting tools such as MS Access , Cognos, Powerplay cubes, Cognos Reportnet etc.
  •  Perform User Acceptance Testing for any system changes that impact financial reporting tools &  processes
  •  Provide functional guidance to developers and IT support groups to resolve issues with various Firm sanctioned reporting
      tools and systems used by finance & accounting community

Education / Background

  •  Bachelor’s degree in economics , finance or accounting from a recognized university; post graduate degree is a plus
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in financial reporting & analysis
 
Skills
  •  Strong preference to Oracle financial system experience
  •  Knowledge of business intelligence tools like COGNOS; Oracle discoverer; Business objects or Financial Statement
      Generators (FSGs)
  •  Basic to intermediate knowledge of relational database design, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, data analysis and data warehousing
  •  Strong hands-on skills in MS Office technologies (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; MS Access)
  •  Six sigma black belt certification preferred
  •  Willingness to quickly learn & grasp industry-wide as well as home grown applications
  •  Flexible hours (would be required to work in shifts) 
  •  Strong team player (knowledge sharing, documenting practices, providing feedback)
  •  Excellent communications skills (excellent English skills: written communication, grasp of grammar and comfortable on
      phone and in all verbal communication)
  •  Excellent problem solving skills (ability to extract, summarize & synthesize facts and develop the best possible solution)
  •  Exposure to multi-national client community
  •  Self-motivated, high-integrity, resourceful & Enthusiastic to work in a hands-on informal team environment
  •  High tolerance for ambiguity
