Title:          Junior Analyst - Global Reporting

Responsibilities

• Generate and distribute standard management reports

• Support data & analyses to answer ad hoc financial questions posed by Firm or cell leaders (e.g., revenues and expenses, over time, client activity, personnel levels and trends, variance analyses, etc.)

• Help in creating reports, templates and tools to support Firm or cell leaders meet their own reporting needs (e.g., professionally formatted “self-service” reports that managers can run on their own)

• Develop a working knowledge of variety of financial reporting tools such as MS Access , Cognos Powerplay cubes , Cognos Reportnet, Oracle - OBIEE, etc.

• Perform User Acceptance Testing for any system changes that impact financial reporting tools & processes

Skills

• Strong preference to Oracle financial system experience

• Knowledge of business intelligence tools like COGNOS; Oracle discoverer; Business objects or Financial Statement Generators (FSGs)

• Basic knowledge of relational database design, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, data analysis and data warehousing would be an added advantage.

• Strong hands-on skills in MS Office technologies is a must (Word; Excel; PowerPoint; MS Access)

• Willingness to quickly learn & grasp industry-wide as well as home grown applications

• Flexible hours (would be required to work in shifts) 

• Strong team player (knowledge sharing, documenting practices, providing feedback)

• Good communications skills (excellent English skills: written communication, grasp of grammar and comfortable on phone and in all verbal communication)

• Good problem solving skills (ability to extract, summarize & synthesize facts and develop the best possible solution)

• Exposure to multi-national client community

• Self-motivated, high-integrity, resourceful & Enthusiastic to work in a hands-on informal team environment

Education/Background

• Bachelor’s degree in economics , finance or accounting from a recognized university

• 1 to 3 years of experience in financial reporting & analysis is a must
